Limahuli Garden is one of NTBG's 5 botanical gardens. It is a pu'uhonua (refuge) for countless endangered species of flora. Out of all of Kauai's botanical gardens, Limahuli revolves the most around preserving the local flora. It contains 17 net acres of garden on a sprawling 400 acre estate weaving through valleys lining the North Shore. Visit Limahuli for the most intimate encounters possible with Hawaii wildlife and flora - experienced like a native Hawaiian.
Like other NTBG gardens, Limahuli's beauty will help you to appreciate the efforts that go int reserving Hawaii. Lima Huli means "turning hands", a reference to the centuries of work spent cultivating the area.
