If you're a nature lover, you absolutely have to visit the Lyon Arboretum. Hike past towering trees, unique Hawaiian plants, and gorgeous landscapes that you can't find anywhere else in the world.
The Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5-acre forest managed by the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Over 5,000 different species of tropical plants grow within the arboretum, making it a valuable resource for botanical researchers across the world. The Lyon Arboretum is open for casual hiking, or you can take a guided tour to learn about the significance of the many different flowers and trees.
The arboretum is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Saturday hours are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and the arboretum is closed to the public on Sundays. Admission to the Lyon Arboretum is free, but the University suggests a donation of $5 per person.
