Puamana Beach Park

A terrific family beach, it's located off Highway 30 (Honoapiilani Highway), going south past the town of Lahaina. Turn off at Mile Marker #19. The beach is a little more rocky than sandy in spots, but it's shaded and there is a grassy area for children. This is probably not the beach you'd like to come to for sunbathing, but it's great for picnics, snorkeling, or if you're a beginner or intermediate level surfer. There are usually some really good waves throughout the summer months. During low tide, the waves tend to be better. When the waves are really good, this beach will get crowded. This is also the beach where The Carthaginian, a whaling brig, was sunk to create a snorkeling attraction. You'll have some spectacular views of Lana'i, Maui's neighboring island from this beach.

There is a parking lot, and parking is also allowed on the street. There are port-a-potties, showers, picnic tables, and barbeque grills, but no lifeguard.
