Located on the Southwestern side of Kauai, Waimea Canyon is a natural wonder touted as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific". The canyon 10 miles long, a mile long, and over half a mile deep. It was formed over millions of years of erosion from the Waimea river, fed by intense rainfall flowing from Mount Wai'ale'ale.
Waimea Canyon is one of the wettest and humid areas of Hawaii, so bring your rain gear! Waimea Canyon State Park can be accessed from Highway 550 of 779 Koke'e road. Admission is completely free!
